CONSIDERING NORTH AMERICA

Greetings!

I can't believe it has been a month since the last newsletter. In this newsletter, you will find several new additions to the site.

In addition to the podcasts listed to the left, I have included Facts on Hispanics in the U.S.--Part 1, Facts on Hispanics in the U.S.--Part 2, and The New Report on Faith Communities Today 2008

The announcement for next year's meeting of the Evangelical Missiological Society has been released. The theme for next year will be "Diversity in Evangelical Mission Today". If you are not a member of EMS, I want to encourage you to join!

Also, on the list of upcoming meetings is the annual meeting of the Great Commission Research Network (the Artist Formerly Known as the American Society for Church Growth). Next month's meeting is scheduled to be held in New Orleans. If you are available and able, you will want to be a part of this event.

My publisher is giving away a FREE missions e-book (ten possible selections) to those who subscribe to two free e-newsletters! You do not want to miss this! Check it out HERE!

In other news. . . I am now living in the 1990s, for I'm considering attaching a blog to NorthAmericanMissions.org. I feel that I have been in the 80s for way too long. I'm not promising anything, but will throw away my parachute pants. Stay tuned. . . .

Keep up your labors in the Kingdom! May the Lord bless you in your service.

Take care,

J. D.

ARTICLE THIS MONTH...

This month's article is an excellent case study by Terry Leap. Terry is a pastor and Ph.D. student at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. His work reminds us of the significance of associational leadership in Baptist associations when it comes to church planting. Even if you are not a Baptist, you will want to check out this month's article!

REVIEW THIS MONTH...

My review this month is of this popular church planting book today. While the book contains many strengths, I have several concerns. Be prepared: This is a lengthy review.

LINKING YOU TO NORTH AMERICA...

New categories have been started for Agnosticism, Atheism, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism. The Truckers' Ministries, House Church, Research and Data Collection, and Links to Daily North American News categories have been updated. The links section is always growing. If I'm missing links that should be here, please send them my way.
